It's that time of year again

Although it's even more self-indulgent of me than usual I just had to mention that it's my birthday today. I've had a lovely day with Sarah, walking around one of our favourite places on the planet, the beautiful Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge. Unfortunately, due to the continuing state of Covid crapness, our kids couldn't be with us today ( which was very strange indeed ) but they should both be home for Christmas.

As well as the usual birthday messages and cards, I've had a couple of cool shout-outs from two of my old blogging pals, over on Twitter. So, a hearty "Thanks!" and "Excelsior!" to Doug of Bronze Age Babies fame for the Big John Buscema Thor pic below, and to Peerless Pete Doree for the pantingly personalised birthday card above. Oh yeah, and thanks to Stan & Jack. And Irving Forbush. 'Nuff said!

( Please don't tell anyone but I think Pete's given away my secret identity... )

Haappy birthday Simon.
(And so long as Pete hasn't given away your secret vulnerability I reckon you're ok)

Thanks Sean. Luckily, I don't have any secret vulnerabilities. Well, except my weakness for mysterious Croatian women dressed as alpacas.
( Oh bugger! Maybe I shouldn't have said that... )

Wasn't Simon Barton one of the brothers of Hawkeye? I'm pretty sure that was in an issue of The Avengers:

"You've got to live, Barney! What would the Barton family be without you?"

"Don't kid yourself, Clint, I'm a goner! Now it's all up to you and Simon, our British sibling who is cooler than the both of us put together!"

"You got that right! But...why is our brother a different nationality?"

"It's a long story which I haven't got the time to reveal because I'm mortally wounded! Goodbye! Wish Simon a happy birthday next time you see him!"

@Richard
I miss ol' Barney. As for brother Clint - he's a bit of a dick and can't shoot his arrows straight... but he ended up with Natasha, so he must be doing something right :-)
( Thanks for the comment, Richard. Good to hear from you, it's been a long time. )

@Steve
Thanks mate. I always appreciate your support here and over at T****er :-)
