Spike: Goon but not forgotten

There are holes in the sky
Where the rain gets in,
But they're ever so small
That's why rain is thin.

I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as a tree.

I must go down to the sea again,
To the lonely sea and the sky,
I left my vest and socks there,
I wonder if they're dry?

Spike Milligan - author, actor, reluctant soldier, Goon, conservationist, poet, comedy genius.
16th April 1918 - 27th February 2002.

One of the funniest ever!

That Baldy Fella said...

One of my absolute heroes along with Douglas Adams, Jim Henson and Groucho Marx.

Spike was a true original, without whom no Python, Hitchiker's, Mighty Boosh etc. etc.
