Plus most of his acting roles apart from Man Who fell To Earth and the Hunger. Labyrinth was a reasonably good film, but Bowie's acting wasn't that brilliant was it?; 9 January 2012 21:34

You're right: the majority of Bowie's '80s work was terrible, bland, dollar-chasing AOR. But there were the occasional great songs like Absolute Beginners ( but not the film, obviously ) and This Is Not America. ( Well... I like them... )

With hindsight, there's no way any artist could sustain the level of brilliance of Bowie's '70s work, but it's just a shame he became so... normal :-)

And, as for Labyrinth, my 16-year old daughter's a big fan of Bowie's performance. But maybe that's just the hormones talking...; 9 January 2012 22:08
