Missing you...

It's a year ago today that we lost my wonderful Mum. If I may be totally self-indulgent for a moment, here are a couple of photos of Mum from probably some time in the late 50's.

The handsome man in the picture below is my Dad, Pete, also sadly missed, and the young girl on the far right is my Auntie Carol, who I'm glad to say is still going strong.

We've drunk a glass ( or two ) to your memory tonight, Mum and Pete.....

I just look back to where I came from"

Has it been a year already?

(big hugs)

(love the song lyrics, by the way)

For the same kind of reason I get rather glum on Father's Day or on his birthday. Death is part of life, certainly, but it's by far the shittest part.

(Thanks for the comments, guys. They're very much appreciated. )

@Mickey: Hard to believe,I know... where's that year gone? Sending some hugs back your way...

@Steve: I know what you mean, mate. Father's Days's coming up and I know I'll get that same old gut-wrenching feeling I've had for the last 15 years. And, after all this talk about people who've passed away, I went to yet another funeral today. I really hope I won't have to do that again for a while...

Hope time dulls the pain xo

Thanks, Joanne. Good to hear from you. I know the pain will never really go away, but a dulling will come eventually...

I'm sorry. Thinking of you.

Thanks, p_t. I'm constantly knocked out by how many thoughtful, generous people there are out there in the blogosphere. Cheers!

Know how you feel, obviously. Just passed the 4th year of being without my Mum, and deliberately did fun stuff that day, 'cos that's what she'd want. Shame I can't see her experiencing all the good things happening in my life now, but I feel she sees them. Your Mum's doing the same, Cerebus.

Thanks for the kind words, Pete, much appreciated as ever.

It's good to hear from you, mate. It's been a long time... hope you're well.

Good as ever, Cerebus. I do still check out everybody's sites, even if I don't always comment. And still don't have a scanner or reliable computer to restart my blog sadly, ( or the free time to be honest ) but the the big news is that I've just written a Conan story for Dark Horse! It's going to be drawn by Sean Phillips obviously, and will be in an upcoming issue of 'Robert E. Howard's Savage Sword' Good eh?

Wow! That's great news, Pete. Congrats! I'll have to keep an eye out for that one. Should be interesting to see Sean Phillips' interpretation of everybody's favourite Cimmerian. I'll wait for my free review copy...
