They've been saying that her and Rory's departure is a tearjerker, but I don't think they'll simply kill them off. I'm hoping for a more imaginative tragedy.
Also, Rory's second name is Williams, is it not? Well I know someone with the exact same name! Strange...
I'm sure they won't just be killed off. I was just being mildly (!) facetious after the promo photo seemed to show a possibly deceased Amy in the Doctor's arms. The amount of deaths and resurrections in the last two series bordered on the ludicrous :-(
Let's be honest - almost everything about the last two series bordered on the ludicrous. Let's hope the next one is a return to form, otherwise the Doc may soon be 'resting' again. The fact that 'Confidential' was cancelled seems to indicate a waning public interest.
I don't think Doctor Who will be resting any time soon - it's the 50th anniversary next year :-)
The show's ratings remain very high in comparison to just about any non-soap drama and it's doing well in the States... which is always the BBC's wet-dream...
Confidential's axing was less to do with ratings / public interest, but from a cost-saving drive at BBC3, which was the annoying part of the whole affair. It's obviously cheaper to produce their empty-headed "yoof" shows than something interesting and informative like Confidential which was surely inspirational for young people interested in working in TV :-(
