The numbers have been crunched, the infinite monkeys took a break from re-writing Hamlet to help out, and even The Count put his mathematical / supernatural skills at our disposal...
And these are the figures which emerged from the flurry of data and counting-on-fingers:

Yep, this insignificant little blog has just passed the 150,000 pageviews mark. Hard to believe, really. So, I'd just like to thank all you lovely people out there in the Blogosphere for your support over the last 3 years and... keep on bloggin' !!
Congratulations, Cerebus. :)
ReplyDeleteCheers, Steve! I've apparently clocked up another 400 or so pageviews since I posted that... so there must be someone out there :-)
ReplyDeleteYour blog isn't messing around with 150,000 page views! That's amazing!!! I've only had 2,000 page views in total over one year. Still, I'm getting more traffic with every post. How many views has your most popular post received?
ReplyDeleteHi Tom! I'm amazed, too! I always think I'd get more Followers and more pageviews if I made this blog more specific and wrote solely about films or comics or music... but I like to keep it as a repository of any old drivel that spills out of my mind.
ReplyDeleteMy most popular posts tend to be ones that will pop up more often in search engines, such as the ones on Bond Girls or any other glamorous female stars. And they usually tend to be the posts that I've put the least amount of work into... which can be frustrating.
But THE most popular one at the moment, with 8379 pageviews is the following one on Sigourney Weaver:

Ironically enough, the highest amount of pageviews the blog has received was in June 2010, when I clocked up 12,000 for the month. I say "ironically" because I was going through a very tough time then ( long-term readers may remember that ) and wasn't really posting that much.
Blogging - it's a funny old game:-)
Cerebus, you should go on Twitter. Steve Does Comics has doubled its monthly page-views in the 6 months since I started seriously plugging it on there. It really does make a difference.
ReplyDeleteHi Steve! I have thought about Twitter but not actually got on with it :-(
ReplyDeleteI haven't decided whether to join Twitter as cerebus660 or as the "real" me ( Simon ) - I've always tried to keep the two separate, but there is some overlap now...
Pageviews aren't my main priority but, as you can see from this post, I like the fact that people out there are actually reading this collection of ramblings and rubbish. That's why I welcome comments, especially from guys like yourself who are always supportive and positive...
