A very sad day.....

We've lost my wonderful Mum today, the kindest, loveliest mother anyone could ever have.

RIP Marlene.
We all love you so much. You've earned your rest from that terrible disease, sleep well.....

  1. I'm sorry to hear that, Cerebus. I lost my dad a few years back and wish I could say something clever that'd make you feel better but, as we all know, there's a limit to what words can achieve. So, all I'll say is hang in there and remember that people are thinking of you.

    All the best; Steve.

  3. I am so, so sorry. Like Steve and Cal, I know what it's like to lose a parent. It sucks. Remember the good times and the love. In the end, that's all there is. *hugs*

  5. I only know you from online...but that's enough to get a sense of what a good person you are, and that in turn gives some idea of what a good mother she was. And I'll bet anything that you and Sarah are doing just as fine a job with your own kids, which is the best thing you can do to honor her memory. You keep hanging in there and be good to yourself.

  7. You have my sincere condolences Cerebus.
I know exactly how you feel. My mother left behind her pain and her love five years ago.

We are left a wonderful memory of them and you are her genes and so are your children. What a wonderful immortality and what a wonderful heritage.

Remember her fondly and pass the stories of her life on. Let her memories not be forgotten.

  9. I'm so sorry. Last week was the third anniversary of my Mum's death, and it actually doesn't get any easier, it gets...liveable. A thousand times a day I catch myself thinking: " I must tell Mum that later ".
Nothing anybody says helps, but I would say that whatever you need to do right now, is what you should be doing. Looking at photos of your Mum for instance,or being on your own, if you need to do that, then do that. Don't feel guilty about your reactions is all I'm saying. And leave it a long while before making any big decisions. You're in shock, and you need to be aware of that. I guess the best way to look at it is just: You're the part of her that's still here, and hold onto that.
    Thinking of ya, fella.
